I think Randy and Simon’s comments about Kris Allen’s performance of his second song were not fair. I think if they went back and watched Kris’ performance again, they would realize they had misjudged him and indeed he had done a fine job.

Well, Adam performed his usual consistent self. But I think the results tomorrow will be an upset for the judges’ clear favorite. Even though I think tonight the dual between Kris and Adam was a draw, Kris will win the competition because all those who voted for Danny Gokey will now vote for Kris.

I hope so!

To say that I am disappointed that Danny Gokey is out, is an understatement. A heartache, is more like it!

But like I said previously, both Kris and Adam deserve to be in the finals. One thing I think will likely happen is all those fans that voted for Danny will now vote for Kris. I don’t think Danny fans will vote for Adam Lambert. To most of them, Adam shrieks and screeches!

Actually Adam can really sing those high notes effortlessly but sometimes he just overdoes it with some songs. And that’s not very attractive to those who are already inclined to vote for either Danny or Kris.

I think the results of the finale will be the greatest upset of American Idol history. I think Kris will receive more votes than Adam, and the judges will be soooooo disappointed, especially Simon! Afterall, he predicted an Adam Lambert win!

Let’s see if my prediction is right!

As for Danny Gokey, he will go on to record a single and then an album and I will be among the first to buy his music from iTunes! All the best, Danny!

I lost track of the time just before AI started and totally missed Danny Gokey’s performance of the judges’ choice. No matter. He nailed his performance of Joe Cocker’s You are so Beautiful to Me. I hope that was enough to get him to the finale! *Fingers crossed*

The judges were a little tough on Kris Allen’s performance of his first song. I liked it though because I think Kris has a very pleasant singing voice and the song Apologise was the right genre for him. I have never heard the Kanye West song that he sang. The judges thought it was even better than the original version! I think he did very well.

Adam Lambert is definitely talented but I did not like his interpretation of U2’s One. The beautiful melody was totally lost in his interpretation. At this point, Adam Lambert does not have to worry about whether or not he will win the competition, he is ready to cut a record right now and will be successful as a recording artiste just like Chris Daughtry is despite not having won the American Idol title.

I think Simon Cowell is right .. the viewers are the ones who choose which contestants get to go to the finals and to hear some of the judges say it, and that includes Simon himself!, Adam Lambert is not guaranteed a spot in the finale. The biggest upset in American Idol history could very well happen tomorrow if Adam gets knocked out of the competition!

Even though I am rooting for Danny Gokey to reach the finals and would be very disappointed if he doesn’t, all three of them deserve to be in the finals. They are equally talented in their own unique way.

It is now up to their fans who gets to win the coveted American Idol title.

I cannot believe that tonight is the semi-finals of American Idol season 8, and this is my first entry on the competition!! I have totally neglected this blog, a shame, really.

So Simon Cowell is predicting an Adam Lambert victory for title of Idol. Simon could very well be right because Adam has been very consistent with his performances.

Personally, if Kris Allen manages to give the performance of his life and wins a spot in the finale, I will be disappointed. Disappointed not because he succeeded, but disappointed that Kris’ success means Danny Gokey’s loss. It is a given that Adam Lambert will make it to the finale.

I am, however, rooting for Danny Gokey. It is unfortunate that he chose that particular song with that lousy scream at the end, which I believe, nearly cost him this week’s spot in the semi-finals.

One of the things that contestants need to get through their heads early in the competition is that the right song choice means you get to move on to the next stage or it’s sayonara for you. Adam Lambert has been the smartest when it comes to selecting a song to sing. His songs have always show-cased his showmanship and his ability to sing those high notes. Except for that horrible new age-y style music he sang during country week, his choice has always be spot on.

A California appeals court ruled this week that a private Christian school has the right to expel two students over an alleged lesbian relationship that was in violation of the organization’s “Christian Conduct” rule.

In a 3-0 ruling, the Fourth District Court of Appeals upheld California Lutheran High School’s right, as a private, religious organization, to use religious criteria in making admission and discipline decisions.

The school is not a business enterprise, the appeals court ruled on Monday, and therefore not covered in the state’s Unruh Civil Rights Act, which prohibits discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation.

“The school’s religious message is inextricably intertwined with its secular functions,” wrote Justice Betty A. Richli in the appeals court opinion. “The whole purpose of sending one’s child to a religious school is to ensure that he or she learns even secular subjects within a religious framework.”

The appeals court ruling relied on a 1998 California Supreme Court decision that allowed the Boy Scouts to exclude gays and atheists. The Boy Scouts of America, which had faced similar discrimination charges, did not have to comply with the state’s anti-discrimination law because it was a social organization, the state High Court had ruled.

The Riverside County-based school had expelled the two girls, then 16, for having a “bond of intimacy” that was “characteristic of a lesbian relationship.”

In 2005, a student had reported to a teacher that the girls said they were in love with each other and referred the teacher to the girls’ MySpace pages. One girl indicated she was bisexual on her MySpace page, while the other said she was “not sure” of her sexual orientation. The school’s pastor said that when he confronted the girls over the suspected lesbian behavior, the girls admitted they had hugged and kissed each other and told other students they were lesbians.

The school’s pastor suspended the two girls but the directors of the school later expelled them.

Coming out of California, this is good news indeed. The courts in California have, more often than not, sided with the radical homosexual agenda at the expense of personal liberties and private property rights.

It is only right, that a Christian school has the right to enforce their rules and discipline. That is one reason why parents send their children to such schools, to escape the liberal/homosexual/secular/global warming crap indoctrination that goes on in many of the public schools.

John McCain’s choice of Sarah Palin as his running mate for Vice President has caused the liberal media and Obama supporters to get into a tizzy, nay worse than a tizzy!  They have gone into a PDS - Palin Derangement Syndrome!

It amuses me to no end to observe how low some are willing to go to villify Sarah Palin!  I hope their PDS will come back to bite them in their liberal butt.  The sweetest backlash will be the election of John McCain as the next President of the USA in November.

I first saw this picture of Madonna on Drudge, and I totally agree with his title of the picture - Freaky.

At 50, Madonna is no doubt a very fit woman, but no matter what you do to your body you cannot hide the wrinkles, the saggy muscles, and wearing sexy clothes can even amplify the fact that you are no longer a spring chicken!

Just look at those arms and thighs!  Ewwwwwww!

From all accounts her concert tour, Sticky and Sweet, is off to a smashing start and her fans are eager to see more of her.  I can believe that she is an inspiration to those in her age group and those aspiring to at least still have that kind of looks and fitness when they reach her age.

One of the things that I really enjoy when I am invited to an 8-course Chinese dinner especially at a wedding reception is the cold dish, the appetizer, before the other heavier dishes are served.

This particular cold dish was served at a blogger friend’s wedding in Sibu early this month. I had never seen siew mai among the stuff on a cold dish before. I guessed that is what they do in Sibu!

All in all it wasn’t a bad dish, but I have had better!

NEW DELHI - A cell phone ring tone that sings “Condom, condom!” has been launched to promote safe sex in India, where condoms carry a strong social stigma and HIV and AIDS are growing problems, health experts said Tuesday.

The a cappella ring tone features a professional singer chanting the word condom more than 50 times, a playful approach that public health activists hope will spark discussion and make condoms more socially acceptable.

“We’ve made a conscious effort to move the concept of the condom away from negative association, like HIV and sex work,” said Yvonne MacPherson, country director of BBC World Service Trust India. “Condoms are actually health products and if you have a condom and you use it, you are seen to be smart and responsible.”

If this public service ring tone helps and encourages people to use the condom more which in turn helps reduce the spread of HIV/AIDS, I am not complaining! Download and use this ring tone by all means!

Did you read about the Oregon man who took off into the air on his lawn chair with large helium-filled balloons tied to his chair? And can you believe that this was not his first trip on his lawn chair?!

I don’t know if the first time I read about a man flying off into the air on his lawn chair tied large balloons was this man, Kent Couch, or not. But I sure was amused when I read about it!

Doug told me that that was one of his dreams when he was a kid. Taking off into the air powered by balloons! I guess he had no idea where to get that many helium-filled balloons at that time, eh! I don’t doubt he would have gone on that flight if he had known where and had the money to get them!
