Fashion Jewelry

February 28, 2008 By: Puteri Category: Uncategorized No Comments →

Earlier today I looked at the blog site that I was going to use for promoting some of my hand made stuff like jewelry. I have been really busy lately that I have not had the time to post the pictures of the stuff that I’d made.

As of now, I have made more necklaces, bracelets and ear rings that I can ever use, and it is time I put some of them up for sale!

I do not know about the others who make jewelry but personally, I cannot resist buying jewelry that others have made. I also buy the jewelry I find at flea markets that are usually imported wholesale fashion jewelry.

You’ll be surprised to find out how good the quality of these fashion jewelry is. In fact they make really good gifts and at very affordable prices too.

If you are looking for quality, affordable fashion jewelry you might want to check out CheapWholesaleJewelry.com.

Oscar Fashion

camerondiaz.jpg

What do you think? I think Cameron Diaz doesn’t look too bad in this white gown.

heidiklum.jpg

Wow, just look at Heidi Klum. Talk about being swathed in red!

jenniferhudson.jpg

I am a fan of Jennifer Hudson. I don’t think this dress does justice to her. I don’t like the way her boobs look in this dress! Also, I think Jennifer should learn how to pose for a camera.

jessicaalba.jpg

I did not know that Jessica Alba was pregnant! I think she looks lovely in this plum empire waist outfit.

mileycyrus.jpg

Miley Cyrus looks sweet here. She looks all grown up!

reneezellweger.jpg

I once saw a picture of Renee Zwellweger where she looked positively anorexic! At least this one does not make her look that anorexic!

Now I wished I had watched the Oscars last Sunday! I always enjoy the red carpet and watching the celebrities preen for the cameras!

Environmentally Friendly Furniture

February 25, 2008 By: Puteri Category: Uncategorized No Comments →

I don’t know much about environmentally friendly furniture but what I do know is that at Great Priced Furniture you can find a good selection of quality furniture such as Lexington Home, Broyhill Furniture, American Drew, AICO, Pulaski, Magnussen Home, Stanley Furniture, Lane, Kathy Ireland Home by Standard, Hooker Furniture, Universal Furniture, Young America, Serta and many more.

I am currently looking for a bed suitable for a boy and those sets that I see at Great Priced Furniture look really nice. Actually I don’t really need a set but the Captain’s Bed, with the trundle and storage drawers, looks like what I need for my son. The drawers are the just what he needs to put his stuff in.

I will most definitely keep Great Priced Furniture in mind when I am ready to make my purchase.

A tale of two professors

February 25, 2008 By: Puteri Category: Odd News 2 Comments →

SINGAPORE (Reuters) - A Singaporean professor who nicked bras and panties has pleaded guilty to stealing women’s underwear from a university dormitory, a local newspaper reported on Saturday.

The 39-year old man — an associate professor in a Chinese university — was charged for taking women’s underwear from a university hostel’s clothes-line last December, the Straits Times reported.

The Singaporean professor, who teaches in China, was in the city-state for his leave when he committed the crime. He was caught by a dormitory security guard who found female undergarments in his haversack.

Full story here.

This is just too funny! No, I do not mean that this professor’s psychiatric disorder is funny. I think that it is creepy that someone, especially someone as learned as this professor, has a fetish for underwear. Creepy!

Reminds of a best friend who has lost some underwear while they were being hung on the clothes line. To this day she still doesn’t know who had stolen her underwear.

Earlier I read how a Singaporean professor, Professor Choon Fong Shih will be the Founding President of KAUST, the new world-class, graduate-level scientific research university now under development in Saudi Arabia.

I am sure Singaporeans are proud of the fact that of all the people considered, Professor Choon Fong Shih was selected. And I am also sure Singaporeans are also embarrassed that the other professor was caught and charged for stealing girls’ underwear!

Cosmetic Surgery

February 25, 2008 By: Puteri Category: Uncategorized No Comments →

I did not watch the Oscar’s award ceremony on TV yesterday but I did read an interesting bit of news. The month leading up to the Oscars is the busiest month for any Hollywood cosmetic surgeon. It seems that celebrities will go all out to make them appear their best on the red carpet.

According to Dr Renato Calabria, a Beverly Hills cosmetic surgeon, one of the most popular procedure is the One Stitch Lift. This procedure tightens sagging facial skin with one stitch under the hair line.

This is the first I have heard of this procedure and I can tell you that I am quite excited! Who wants to go through a major surgery if one stitch is all it takes to tighten your facial skin? Well, if you don’t really have very saggy skin, that is!

How about breast enhancements? You can bet that UK Breast Enhancement procedure is still popular not only with celebrities but with anyone who wants a more womanly curve.

You know what, I don’t have to be a celebrity to go for a one stitch lift or a breast enhancement if I want to!

Fabric for dresses

February 22, 2008 By: Puteri Category: Fashion Trends, Shopping No Comments →

Like I mentioned earlier, I was at Joanne’s this morning after my doctor’s appointment.  I walked by and even touched some of the bolts of spring fashion fabric but did not actually stop to handle and drape any of the fabric on myself.

Last year, I made a few summer dresses and even made one for my friend.  The dresses I made were based on two patterns only.      I told myself, the patterns worked, and I had success using them!

It is at times like this, that I wished my good friend, Carol was living near by.  She’s the one who sewed most of my clothes when I still lived in Malaysia.  Of course now, I would only ask her for advice on the use of certain patterns, because I would really like to improve my dress sewing skills.

I still have fabric that I bought for summer dresses from two and three summers ago which I never got around to using. No, none of them looks dated because the fabric looks like linen but isn’t and that linen look is still popular this year.

That was why, at Joanne’s today, I had to steel myself and not buy anything which I wasn’t ready use!

Sexy Lingerie

February 22, 2008 By: Puteri Category: Uncategorized No Comments →

I love sexy lingerie as much as the next woman but there have been many times in the past where I had to leave a lingerie shop without buying anything. The problem? I did not find bras that I was happy with to go with the matching panties. The panties usually look fine, but the bra had cups that were just not my size. Yes, the the bras did say cups A, or B, but those cups A and B were still too large for me. It can be very frustrating!

I have several bras that I bought and hardly ever used because after wearing them once or twice, they did not feel comfortable on me especially the size of the cups.

I quite envy those who are better endowed than I am and can easily find bras that fit their shape that much more easily. My sister-in-law is one person who is petite but yet has such nicely shaped breasts. My brother on his travels would buy her sexy lingerie like Chantelle Bras and other bits of lacy lingerie some of which even made her blush!

But of course she still wore them because after all who wouldn’t want to look and feel sexy in front of one’s husband?

Chinese food to go

February 22, 2008 By: Puteri Category: Food No Comments →

Have you been on one of those days when you just don’t feel like cooking?  Last night was one such day.  I told Doug maybe we could go out and maybe grab some fast food for dinner.  But it was raining and gusty all yesterday.  So I thought, I was not going out in that kind of weather!

Late this morning I had a doctor’s appointment and after that I went to Joanne to see if there was anything I could pick up from their post season sales.  Nothing actually.   It was already past noon when I left Joanne and my stomach was grumbling away.

Okay, how about I pick up some Chinese food to go?  There was a Panda restaurant, a Chinese fast food restaurant, not far from Joanne.

I love Chinese food, but they can be too salty.   Not the best kind of food for someone who also has to watch her salt intake!

AI First Result’s Show of Season 7

February 21, 2008 By: Puteri Category: American Idol, TV shows 3 Comments →

The girls had their turn last night and I was most impressed with the performances of Syesha Mercado and Ramiele Malubay.

Tonight was the first results show of the season. I enjoyed the 60s medley the 24 contestants sang. They sounded very professional together and their outfit was sooo 60s! I just love it!

Ramiele was among the most emotional tonight at seeing Joanne Borgella and Amy Davis leave the show. I’m sure she was sorry to see Garret Haley, and Colton Berry leave too. Danny Noriega was the most emotional of the guys.

I think everyone in the final 24 is very talented but at this stage of the competition the right song and staying consistent is the make it or break it for each one of them.

There are now 20 left in the competition and next week will see 4 more leave the show.

If you haven’t seen Ramiele sing the other night, here’s the video.
