DWTS: Jason!

March 26, 2008 By: Puteri Category: DWTS No Comments →

I did not watch the result show of the DWTS last night. I was busy watching American Idol. But I did hear on the radio today that Monica Seles and Penn Jillett have been eliminated from the show.

I am not surprised at Penn Jillette’s elimination. His dancing style can be likened to a bull in a china shop! Monica Seles is a tennis champion but her prowess in the tennis court is not matched by her prowess, or lack thereof, on the dance floor. She tried her best, but there are better contestants than her.

On Monday, I actually missed Jason Taylor and Edyta Sliwinska’s dancing. Again thank goodness for YouTube, I was able to catch up on what I missed!

Boy, is Jason Taylor hot or what! His score matched Kristy Yamaguchi’s for the night! And Kristy was really good!

AI: David Cook!

March 26, 2008 By: Puteri Category: American Idol, TV shows No Comments →

Did you see David Cook sing Billie Jean last night? Wow, I am blown away! I have never heard that version of Billie Jean. That version was Chris Cornell’s version. Just who is Chris Cornell?

Anyway, of all the performances last night, I like David Cook’s the best. I was cleaning my face as David performed and did not realize the song was Billie Jean till the last line. Good thing there’s YouTube! I have listened to that performance over and over and I think it was brilliant! The judges agree!

Here’s David Cook, if you missed it last night

Web Hosting

March 22, 2008 By: Puteri Category: Uncategorized No Comments →

What do you look for when you look for web hosting? Value for money? Knowledgeable Tech Support? Brand Name?

My first paid hosting was with a very well-known company. It worked for me for a while till I messed up something in the account and the only way for me to reclaim my account was to give them the answer to my secret question. Guess what? I could not answer the secret question correctly, and that was that. I gave up hosting with that company. I can understand the company protecting their client’s privacy but it was ridiculous that I could not prove my identity other than answering the secret question word for word!

Anyway, the next host I got worked fine for about five years, until I started several blogs and the blogging tools, Cpanel, add on domains, bandwidth, and hosting space available with that hosting company became less competitive compared to what was available out there for the same price.

Currently I have two accounts with a web hosting company and so far I am very satisfied with their service. I have had to call on their tech support several times and each time I was able to get solutions to my problems and questions quickly from them.

If you are considering a particular web hosting company you might want to read Guide to Web Hosting at KaushalSheth.com. He has read reviews on the Top 10 hosting companies and compiled a list of the best hosts available out there. You might benefit from his recommendations.

Pregnant Nicole Kidman

March 19, 2008 By: Puteri Category: Celebrities 1 Comment →

Nicole Kidman looked a picture of happiness as she visited Sydney’s Bondi Beach today.

The pregnant star was glowing as she strolled along the promenade with her husband Keith Urban in hand and her budding baby bump on show.

The star abandoned her usual Hollywood glamour for a casual summertime look, and in a sign she is more relaxed than ever, she even removed her shoes for the afternoon walk.

Full story here.

I never did like Nicole Kidman when she was married to Tom Cruise. I was too jealous of her! But now that they are divorced and Tom Cruise is getting weirder, I do not dislike her anymore!

Nicole looks beautiful and I am happy that at long last she is carrying her own biological child. I am sure she has waited a long time for that experience.

By the way, I think Keith Urban is cute! I watched a concert of his on one of the Country Music channels on TV recently. Cute!
And I am not jealous of Nicole! Lucky her!

Online Rap Music

March 19, 2008 By: Puteri Category: Uncategorized No Comments →

I am not much of a rap fan but one of my all time favorite songs is a rap song. Coolio’s Gangsta’s Paradise is the name of the song that I really liked. I love the melody to that song and the lyrics to the song, I can understand.

My 16-year-old nephew is a huge Eminem and 50 Cent fan. I was quite surprised to hear of his music taste! He’s got this clean cut image, doesn’t even wear baggy pants, let alone the kind that drops below your hips, but he loves rap music. I’ll have to let him know of this online rap music site. It’s a a one stop site for all things rap and I’m sure he’ll enjoy following the Top 10 songs, albums, and artists listed on the site.

Don’t disturb me now, I am listening to Coolio’s Gangsta’s Paradise on YouTube!

DWTS - The Ladies Turn

March 19, 2008 By: Puteri Category: DWTS No Comments →

The second hour of American Idol clashed with DWTS, but I did catch Priscilla Presley, Kristy Yamaguchi and Marlee Matlin.

Considering her age, Priscilla Presley did pretty well. Kristy? She was really, really good. I think she can only do better even though she said there were hard habits learned from skating that she had to break. But she was very graceful.

I don’t really know how to critique Marlee. She is profoundly deaf and yet she was able to dance. That was just simply amazing. But like Carrie Ann said, Marlee like everyone else will be judged on their dancing, but I don’t doubt viewers voting for her would vote just for the fact that she was gutsy enough to take on a dance competition.

I did not get to watch Monica Seles and Shannon Elizabeth and Marissa Jarret Winokur dance. I can still catch them dance on YouTube, I am sure.

Is the result show for DWTS tonight? Will it clash with the result show of American Idol? I have not checked the programming schedule.

Seiko Watch

March 18, 2008 By: Puteri Category: Uncategorized No Comments →

When I was a kid, I wanted my first watch to be a Seiko Watch. Seiko was the most well known name where watches were concerned. No, my first watch wasn’t a Seiko because at that time a Seiko watch was more than my father could afford to get me.

I love watches and own several pieces. Mostly they are young and trendy looking. I have a couple of dress watches though I’d like to own a fancier one with diamonds in it. You know those diamond studded kinds that celebrities wear when they are out partying!
Something like the Seiko SXDA22 Ladies Two Tone Le Grand Sport Mother of Pearl with Diamonds or the Seiko SXDA37 Ladies Coutura Mother of Pearl with Diamonds. Either will look good for every day use and neither will look out of place for dressier occasions.

If I get either watch at BlueDial.com, 2nd day shipping is free. I like that!

DWTS: Mario and Karina

March 18, 2008 By: Puteri Category: DWTS, TV shows No Comments →

Like I said earlier, thank goodness for YouTube! I watched again Mario and Karina, and Steve and Anna. I was a little distracted when these two couples had their turn last night.

I knew Mario was good, but I watched his hip action this time around, and boy is he good! Carrie Ann looked all flushed looking at Mario’s hip actions! According to the judges Mario needs to work a little more on his footwork. Can you imagine once he gets that down to pat, how awesome his dancing will be? I am so looking forward to see more of his dancing!

Watch Karina and Mario dance again here on YouTube.

Fruit Baskets

March 18, 2008 By: Puteri Category: Uncategorized No Comments →

I’ve been browsing The Fruit Company website and found some really good Easter Gift baskets. I don’t think it is too late to order some Easter Gift baskets, especially if I do it today! I love the Columbia Easter Basket, which has Raspberry and Marionberry Preserves, colorful Chocolate Covered Strawberry, Apricot & Pear Medley, and juicy slices of fresh fruit among other things in the basket.

The Fruit Company has a Fruit Of The Month Club. As a member, you will receive one kind of fruit each month. You can choose between three sizes - HarvestClub Grand, HarvestClub Classic or HarvestClub Light. These fruit baskets can be enjoyed by your family, or make good corporate gifts to give away to clients.

A good friend has a birthday coming up, and a fruit basket is what I will send her this year!
