Boy, am I late or what with my entry on the American Idol results show! Blame in on poor internet connection and being out of the country!

I totally missed the results show because when the show was on I was flying across the Pacific Ocean bound for Hong Kong. I did not know who the new American Idol was and did not find any American Idol news on any of the newspapers I read on the plane.

But on the last leg of my journey, I was pleased to see this on the front page of one of the local Malaysian newspapers!

My favorite contestant, David Cook, was the new American Idol! Woohooo! After the “knockout” comment by Simon Cowell during the finale night, I was quite pessimistic about David Cook winning the show.

I am very happy that his fans voted in droves to give him the comfortable lead of 2 million votes to ensure his win of the competition. Woohoo! Finally, a rocker is an American Idol!

Last night was the finale of the Dancing with the Stars series. I am hoping that Kristy Yamaguchi will win the competition. She deserves to win because she is a far superior dancer to the other two male finalists! And she scored perfect scores on both dances! Way to go, Kristy!

I can almost kick myself though, because I missed the time frame for voting!! By the time I made my calls to vote, the voting was over! Arrgghhh! I cannot wait to see the results show tonight!

I just hope that the finale of American Idol will not take more than an hour! As to American Idol, I am rooting for David Cook!! I will make sure I hit the redial button to vote for David Cook. I don’t know if that is going to be enough to counter all the votes the young girls will be giving to David Archuleta!

Too bad, I will be no where near a TV to watch the 2-hour American Idol results show tomorrow. I will be flying over the Pacific when the show comes on. So, so disappointed not to be able to see my favorite Idol crowned the winner!

Ok, this is my not so regular update on the two TV shows that I follow.

Mario was eliminated last night from the Dancing with the Stars.  He did not get very good reviews on Monday but I still think he is a much better dancer than Cristian.

Christian hurt his arm last week and was placed last on the leader board.  But he managed to get voted into the next round.  I think his vote was mostly sympathy vote.  I cannot see how his performance on Monday deserved such high scores!

Kristy Yamaguchi performed really well on Monday to my untrained eye but Carrie Anne did not like her 2nd performance.   Anyway I am glad that she made it safely to the next round.

As for American Idol, Jason Castro made a big mess of his performance last night.  I hope he will be the one to get eliminated tonight.  I have never been a fan, because I do not like his singing voice … so teeny!  It would be so unfair if one of the three contestants got eliminated.  They did far better than Jason and I agree with Simon Cowell.  Jason should pack his bags.

David Archuleta did well, and as for David Cook, I am rooting for him all the way!  I hit the redial button for as long as I could last night to make sure that he stayed on till the finale!  It was at this particular stage that Chris Daughtry got eliminated in the past!  I do not want to see David Cook suffer the same fate.

We shall see if Jason Castro will indeed leave the competition tonight.

Finally!  I don’t know how she managed to stay that long in the Top 10 without being eliminated before this.  I was shocked last week that Carly Smithson was eliminated before Brooke White!

Tom Sullivan, radio talk show and American idol fan, said the American Idol franchise would forever lose its credibility if Brooke White ended up in the finale!  I agree totally with that assessment.

Looking at who are left, I predict that the two Davids - Archuleta and Cook, would be the two finalists in the competition.  Between the two of them, I am rooting for David Cook!   :wink:

Can’t believe that in three weeks, it would be the finale of American Idol!  Looking forward to that show!

I was away from home all week last week and missed my two favorite TV programs!

I did not watch American Idol where Carly Smithson got booted out. I have yet to watch her performance that resulted in her being eliminated from the show.

I did not watch Dancing with the Stars and missed Marlee Matlin’s performance which resulted in her missing the cut for the next round.

Last night I arrived in time, from my trip to southern California, to watch DWTS. I was sorry to see Kristy Yamaguchi, for the first time, not being at the top of the leader board. Naturally, I made sure to vote for her to keep her in the competition! Mark Ballas, her professional partner, was reminded that it was at that stage that he and Sabrina got booted out of the competition in the previous season. NO! I do not want to see Yamaguchi eliminated! I want to see her in the grand finale!

I hope American Idol will only last an hour today so I can watch the result show of DWTS!

I did not watch the American Idols results show last night because I had a dinner to attend. I am very disappointed that Michael Johns got eliminated last night. I had hoped Michael would last to the top 5 even. Michael Johns and David Cook are my favorite this season, and I even downloaded a couple of their songs from iTunes. Imagine Kristy Lee Cook still in the show! I don’t think she is that bad a singer but I’d rather she was the one to have left this week! Sorry Kristy!

Did you watch the Idol Gives Back show? I watched bits and pieces of it. I watched bits and pieces of it because I was busy moving in furniture after we had our carpet cleaned.

I enjoyed Daughtery’s performance as well as that of Carrie Underwood and Mariah Carey. It was indeed a star studded event and, no I have not made any donation!

I am really disappointed that Ramiele Malubay is out. In the last few weeks she did not get very good reviews from the judges. I think a lot of it boils down to the choice of songs. She is, without a doubt, a pretty good singer but in a competition such as American Idol, she has to be on top of her game all the time.

I would have thought Jason Castro would be the one who should be eliminated. Every week he sings the same kind of songs. Songs that do not have very much vocal range and versatility. What he has got going for him, mostly in my mind, is his looks. He was one of the bottom three the week before but last Wednesday he wasn’t.

I was very happy with Michael Johns, David Cook and David Archuleta’s performances this week. They are my top three guys. I am quite enamored with Michael Johns and David Cook. I even downloaded their songs at iTunes.

But at this point of the competition every one will exit except for the final two. It is a matter of whether it is this week or in later weeks.

Did you see David Cook sing Billie Jean last night? Wow, I am blown away! I have never heard that version of Billie Jean. That version was Chris Cornell’s version. Just who is Chris Cornell?

Anyway, of all the performances last night, I like David Cook’s the best. I was cleaning my face as David performed and did not realize the song was Billie Jean till the last line. Good thing there’s YouTube! I have listened to that performance over and over and I think it was brilliant! The judges agree!

Last night after watching the premiere episode of the Dancing with the Stars 6th season, I said I was looking forward to watching the ladies dance tonight.

BUT!  American Idol is on at the same time!  I am pissed!  Why do they have to do this?  Every year, I am forced to switch between DWTS and AI!  And what I missed, I have to catch on YouTube!  Thank goodness there are those who bother to put this video clips online!

I know this is about TV ratings, but there are some of us who don’t watch anything else on TV except for these two shows! I don’t care about what else is on TV!   :mad:

After the brou-ha-ha over the disclosure of David  Hernandez’s pre-idol life, this week it was goodbye for him.  Of the final twelve performances on Tuesday, I thought David Hernandez and Kristy Lee Cook’s performances were the weakest and guessed correctly that one of them would be leaving.

Personally, I thought Carly Smithson and David Cook had the best performances on  Tuesday.  I still like David Archuleta, Michael Johns and Ramiele Malubay.  I don’t know what the attraction is with Brooke White! It seems the judges like her.  She has a nice enough voice but I don’t think she will make it to the final two.

I like the new stage - really impressive!
