I took these pictures as I waited for the freight train to pass before I could cross the railroad crossing.
Like most towns in the USA, Galt has a railway track going right through the town. The first year we moved to this town, we lived in a rental that was quite close to the tracks. I could never get used to the noise – horn and clacking of the wheels – and I could never leave my windows open at night.
Now we live about 2 miles from the tracks and we can still hear the train especially at night but fortunately the sound is faint!

The Galt Old Car Festival is held every year at MacFarland Ranch. The money raised from the entrance tickets and the fees from the participants benefits the Galt Historical Society. It’s a worthy cause and we try to go to the show every year.
I had a lot of fun trying the different features in my new camera and, if I do say so myself, the pictures taken today are quite fabulous! I took almost a hundred photos and I chose these few to present here.
